Spielothek plan on releasing their debut EP soon!

German punk, hardcore band Spielothek plans on releasing their debut EP “Beers with Mum” real soon. Learn more about this upcoming release in our brand new interview!

Hello, Spielothek! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. Would you mind introducing your band to our readers?
We are three New Zealanders living in Berlin and the band is named after a dodgy corner casino across the road. It all started about a year ago. We’ve been pretty busy playing mostly local shows. We play punk and hardcore, influenced by bands like The Casualties and Alarmsignal.

You plan on releasing your debut EP later this year. What kind of songs can we expect on this release?
The songs on the “Beers with Mum” EP are about family values, neighbourly relations and the responsible imbibing of light refreshments. We did not have a lot of recording time, so we tried to play extra fast.

How long have you worked on this record?
Four days. No, wait, five days.

Which song is the one that, according to you, best represents the spirit of this EP?
Well, there’s a song on the Beers with Mum EP called “Beers with Mum”. Probably that one.

I’m sure you have at least one funny story from your recording sessions to share with us!
Someone was drunk. They fell over. We laughed.

I saw that you guys are also often playing live. How do you manage the pressure before going on stage?
There’s no pressure if no-one expects us to be good. We have one beat and three chords to remember. Manageable.

The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance!
The bass player wants to say hi. We said no.

Thanks for your time!
