The French alternative rockers Saint Evil Street took some free time to answer a couple of questions for us. Learn more about their debut EP “Cursed”, as well as their upcoming live show this month!
Hello Saint Evil Street! Thanks for taking time to answer a couple of questions for us. How are you guys doing? Hello there, we’re good. Summer is burning well. Hehe
Your debut EP “Cursed”, was recently released! How have your fans reacted to this debut release? We are very glad for the response we have recieved from the public and from the media too. The support came from everywhere, the first step is done and now we must continue advancing in our evolution. And we have to thank everybody once again!
How long have you Worked on this record? Actually, I think we’ve been working on this EP for years. And we had many inconveniences surrounding us. I could say that we have been working on it for 4 years. And we really have enough music for a double album!
For those who haven’t heard it yet. Why should they? Here’s your chance to convince them! Our music possesses the quality of being indescribable and unpredictable. The sounds are blithely gloomy. We play music for all moods and for lovers of the diversity of musical genres. If you feel as unpredictable as the weather, listen to Saint Evil Street! (laughs)
I’m sure you have at least one funny story from your recording sessions to share with us! Something very curious was that the simplest parts of the songs were the ones that caused more problems, and the BASS!! Seriously, Valentin’s bass is haunted.
A few days before recording during a rehearsal session, we heard a strange sound coming from the bass. A mixture of untuned and sharp sounds, something I never heard before on a bass. When we observed, the bridge was sliding out of the wood. Val tried to insert it back to the wood and it came back out every single time. It was a stressful comedy.
Tell us one random fun fact about each band member of the band. A normal day for Saint Evil Street is fun, there is no stress or rush for us. Because Valentin is always forgetting something or breaking something (laughs). Valerian is a charismatic dude, he has a lot of funny stories to tell. And me (Octavio), well, I’m the eldest in the band, so I always have some old jokes to tell.
Last but not least, can we expect some tours/shows this year or i’m 2020? Yes, our closest gig coming is on September 27th. We will be playing together with Van Hammer Stone and Obsoleth in Strasbourg!
