“I Hope You Know” is These Five Years‘ first release from their upcoming second EP, “This Could All Be So Easy”, to be released on Stereo Brain Records.
The song centres around the perpetual anxiety that comes from spending too long inside your own head, going over the words said to you again and again trying to make sense of them.
It’s about those days when you wake up wanting to make a change, wanting just to ‘try’, and instead just do nothing, locked into feeling ‘not good enough’. It’s about figuring out how to move on from these feelings.
Off the back of a successful 2018 that included their first UK tour, high-profile support slots with WSTR, Forever Came Calling, and Flogging Molly, as well as their first EP “How It’s Been”, These Five Years hope to build on their brand of emotive pop punk storytelling even further.
The band will be touring in June with This Time Last Year (Leeds) and Everyone & Anyone (Wrexham), who were recently announced as support for Neck Deep on their hometown show.
