The Chromosomes – “Losing Eleven” (Album review)

The Chromosomes are a punk rock band from Italy. The band released, back in October 2017, an album named “Losing Eleven”, and here’s what our reviewer Derek had to say about it!

The Chromosomes

Losing Eleven by The Chromosomes is a bit of a throwback to the 90s. I don’t mean this pejoratively at all, as the 90s were when I as a punk musician really developed my biggest influences. There is an emphasis on lighthearted sound and fun on Losing Eleven that 90s punk had that the previous two decades really were missing.

The songs all have great hooks, great instrumentals, and fantastic vocal harmonies. This record really harkens back to what made growing up in Southern California as a punk fan so great for me. It’s an invitation to mosh and dance with a bunch of strangers who’ll be like family at the end of the show.

The Chromosomes have made a record that put a smile on my face, and hopefully will do the same for you.

Musically,
