London based Crushed Veneer deliver a blend of punk and indie rock with influences ranging from The Gaslight Anthem and Beach Slang, to Pixies and Dinosaur Jr.
‘Kind of Blue’ is the second single from London based 4 piece Crushed Veneer, taken from their upcoming debut EP ‘Desire and the Need to Live’. After honing these songs on the live circuit, the Crushed Veneer recorded their debut EP in November and December of last year at Soho Sonic Studios, London with engineer Oscar Moos. It was mixed and mastered by Dave Downham (Beach Slang, Pet Symmetry) at Gradwell House Recording in New Jersey, USA.
While the beginning of this song wasn’t really my cup of tea, as soon as the chorus started, the instrumental parts got heavier and this is what made me love this track! This song also clearly seems promising live – So you should definitely keep an eye on this band.
Crushed Veneer are Kieran McGrady (Vocals & Lead Guitar), Aaron Simmons (Rhythm Guitar), Al Briggs (Bass), and Bobby Khoda (Drums).
