Pop punk quintet Seven Stories High have announced their sophomore EP ‘Deadweight‘ for November 24th 2017.
The EP was recorded at Mwnci Studios in West Wales, rounded off with mixing and mastering by local technician Tom Williams. Sonically the band, who are influenced by State Champs, The Wonder Years and Four Year Strong, describe the release as “almost split in two – half follows a fast up-beat Pop Punk feel, which gets people dancing and jumping around. The other is heavier – fuller sounding and darker in feel, which you can chant and scream along to.”
If I had to pick one track off of this EP, I’d definitely choose ‘Apathy‘, the lead single which came along with a music video one month ago. This track is offering some amazing guitar riffs and pounding drums, which is exactly what we are looking for, here at WHTYB!
I also think that ‘Midas’ stands out with its acoustic intro that greatly enhances Rhys’ voice. The increasing power of the instruments, one minute later, makes this track an essential title on this EP.
Seven Stories High are about to release an EP with some clear potential. If the band carries on, then I can’t wait to hear what they will have to offer next! Well done, guys.
