‘Losing Sleep’ by 4-piece pop punk band Fiveash

Taking influence from Neck Deep, Taking Back Sunday and other scene-stalwarts, Fiveash are Western Sydney’s latest addition to the ever-growing Australian pop punk scene.

The band consists of Joshua Mackay on vocals/guitar, Steve Francis on guitar, Cody King on vocals/bass and Joshua Iliffe on drums. The guys released their debut single ‘Losing Sleep‘ on September 20th.

“Losing Sleep was the very first song we really put together as a band. I wrote the intial ideas back in February, before we became a band and used it as a demo to attract the other members. We all worked on it, changing many things until we were happy with the finished product. I wrote the lyrics during a period of time where I felt stuck; where I felt like all I could do was let people down. I was struggling to find my place in the world, and felt that no matter how hard I tried I could never be truly content.

The song I feel reflects that part of my life, where things werent working, but it’s also hopeful in the sense that there is so much more to do and so much more to focus on than just little insignificant things that will eventually pass. We wanted to release the song first as it showcases our energy as a band, and also because we wanted a song that we hope people can relate to.” – Fiveash
