Hello guys, thanks for taking time to answer our questions! Could you please introduce your band to our readers? Hey guys! 🙂 We are Zoo Harmonics. On the vocals – guitar: Dror Goldstein ; Lead Guitar: Shay Zagreba ; Bass: Gal Aroch ; Drums: Priel Horesh.

Can you tell us about how your band first formed? The roots of the band started forming long time ago as a high school band named “Nipel Twist” (Yes, we already know there’s a spelling mistake there 😀) Around 5 years ago, we recorded Nipel Twist’s last album, but because the guitar player quit the band we decided we should have a clean start and release the album as a new band so we changed our name, Since then we have been Zoo Harmonics.

Can you tell us more about your new album ‘IKTELAN’? The Albums name ‘Iktelan’, symbolises an invisible truth, something you can see only if you look really inside the fragments of the world you. A lot of the songs on the album mention this journey of seeking those invisible powers.

What’s the story behind your albums name? The Album name Iktelan, symbolizes an invisible truth ,something you can see only if you look really inside the fragments of the world you know. A Lot of the songs on the album mention this journey of seeking those invisible powers.

If you had to pick one track off this record, which one would it be and why? Dror: My favourite song on the album is “Whole Again“, but you know, everything changes after you spend so much time working on the songs. I had different songs in my mind before we finished the album.

How was the recording process? Any funny story from the studio? The recording process was super tight and a crazy wonderful experience. We spent 35 days in Gibson, Canada at our Producers studio, (GGGarth Richardson – Rage against the Machine, Biffy Clyro).

The studio is deep inside the forest, far from civilisation, and It was the Canadian winter back then and aFunny story… I think that if we had a video of me and Ron running naked from the outdoor jacuzzi to the studio at 2 am When it was like 2 degrees outside it would have said everything.

We also had a beautiful Chanukah dinner with Garth and we taught him how to sing traditional holiday songs, watching Garth struggle to sing those Hebrew songs was hilarious.

Who were your main influences for this album? I guess our main influences would be: Matchbook RomanceBlink 182Foo FightersFrank TurnerMuse !

How do you usually write and compose your songs? Dror: Usually I write a song, I come to the rehearsal with an acoustic guitar and play the song for the band. Then, if they like it, we start working on it, sometimes the song turns upside down when in the process, sometimes we don’t change a lot.

I saw that you guys often tour across Europe. Have you ever performed in France? If yes, we should catch up next time! We did have a couple of tours in Europe but have yet to play in France. We would love to play there in the near future and catch up for sure, let’s make it happen!

Out of all the experiences you had as a band, has there been a particular one that has stood out to you? I think the strongest thing I’ve learned is that you should be super sensitive to your instincts and stick to what you believe in, it’s super easy to lose track of what’s right for you when you’re working very closely with other people.

And to finish… What’s up next for your band? That’s a big question 🙂 We’ve been working on some new singles to release in the next few months and the Album will receive an official International release in October.

In the meantime, We are going to have a goodbye show/party for Dror, he’s going to travel for a few months in India. After that, we will get back on track, get ourselves to Europe to spread the new Album to as many crowds as we can and hopefully we will also come to France.
