Today, we got the chance to listen, before the official release date, to Sean Nolan and the Heartmakers‘ upcoming EP ‘R is for Rocket‘!
“R is for Rocket is also the title of a collection of short stories by Ray Bradbury. Honestly, he’s one of my all-time favorite storytellers. A couple years ago I decided to name every release after one of his books. Our first record was called October Country. Each track on this record tells the story of some sort of journey. Not unlike hopping in a rocket!“ – Sean
This record is definitely something you’ll have to check once it’s out. Indeed, from the very first second, the opening track ‘Charly and the Moving Picture Machine‘ was already making me shake my head up and down and I knew at this exact moment that I was going to love this release.
And I was right! Second track ‘Mixtape‘ is my favorite one off this EP. What really stands out are the instrumental parts of the song. The riffs are simply awesome and this is why this track seems very promising live.
“My favorite track is “Hey Pete”. It’s a bit different than the others. It’s about a dear friend of mine who lost a battle with heroin. I’m especially fond of the lead guitar parts and the percussive quality of the vocals. I’m hoping wherever he is, he’s heard it. And knows I love him.“ – Sean
The band decided to use deep, catchy lyrics which people can relate to and this is why this release has enough to delight everyone. Keep up the great work, guys!
